Inspirational opening sequences

Spiderman

Words flying around everywhere and they are landing on spider webs symbolizing Spiderman and the name of the title then there is a animated Spiderman figure rises then it goes back to the webs. All this intro is animated therefore could symbolize it’s a animated film making some people think that’s what they are going to watch. Then when the film starts it isn’t a animation therefore it creates an illusion in your head weather it is half an half or all fully non animated. The intro creates an image in your head of a animated film but then when you watch the film. This therefore makes you think why did they choose that intro because the film isn’t a animation. The red and blue colour scheme of the intro creates an image in your head to weather Spiderman will choose that colour scheme or not. This intro is like an illusion because it creates loads of images in your head of what you are letting yourself in for then when it comes to the film it leaves loads of unanswered questions flying around in your head.

Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory

At first it shows some chocolate getting mixed with the name of the title in the middle of the screen and the music is just starting to build up and start. Then it cuts to a close up shot of a bag of coco beans pouring out and the song is still going. While this screen is still on the name of two people who are starring in the film pop up. Then it cuts to some powdered coco getting processed with the list of more actors and actresses names on the left of the screen. The them names go away and more come up on the right hand side. Then it cuts to a screen with melted chocolate getting poured down a machine then it introduces more names of actors on the top right of the screen. Then them words disappeared and they come up on the other side of the screen and name another actor. Then after the names dissolve it cuts to a high angle close up shot of some wafer biscuits going through a chocolate coating machine. Then in the top left corner some more important people in making this film comes up then they dissolve away. Then more come in on the bottom right on the same shot of the wafers. Then they dissolve away from the screen. Then it cuts to a shot of caramel being piled up on top of more caramel. Then the name of the film editor comes up in the center of the page and the name of the coloring software. Then they dissolve away and more names come up on the left hand side of the screen. Then it cuts to a shot of machine pumping out small bite size pieces of chocolate then more names dissolve in on the full left hand side of the screen. Then it dissolves in to a shot of the chocolate covered wafers getting sprinkled with bits. Then even more important names come up on the middle of the screen. Then they dissolve away and the name of another important persons name comes up on the bottom right of the screen. Then it cuts to a high angle shot of the conveyor belt carrying the bite size pieces of chocolate, while the names of another important person comes up on the top left of the corner. These words then dissolve away and more come up on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Then it cuts to a conveyor belt transporting teacakes. Then some more important information comes up on the top left hand corner of the screen. It then dissolves away and more comes up in the bottom left of the corner. Then it cuts to a high angle sot looking over thousands of wonka bars. Then the name of the director comes u for a couple of seconds then it dissolves away. Then it cuts to a black screen and the movie begins. This opening sequence makes you think the film is about chocolate and the name gives it a idea that it might be set in a chocolate factory. The use of sound throughout the opening sequence is very clever as they take several songs from the film and merge them all into a 2-3 minute over track that fits with the clips and shots being used. The opening titles also set the genre of the film of a fantasy family musical film.
